This simple widget displays solar and geomagnetic data from www.spaceweather.com on your home screen. Many thanks to the folks at www.spaceweather.com for making this data available! Tap the widget to open the Solaris Alpha application, www.spaceweather.com, or the NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center home page for more information.
When you install the widget onto your phone's home screen, a configuration dialog allows you to select what happens when you tap the widget. To change this preference, remove the widget from the home screen and then add it back to the home screen.
Widget icons and labels indicate the following:
- The power of the strongest solar flare in the past 24 hours
- Current sunspot number
- Current 10.7 cm solar flux, in sfu (solar flux units)
- Current 3-hour average planetary Kp index (probability of aurora increases with Kp index)
- Btotal and Bz interplanetary magnetic field in nano-teslas (probability of aurora increases with south-facing Bz)
These values are updated every thirty minutes.
Please email me if you encounter problems, or with suggestions to improve the widget - thanks!

I installed it, but it's nowhere to be found on my Moto.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Can you add solar wind data feed too?

On my device the widget takes up a 4 horizontal 2 vertical grid, while it only uses 2 horizontal and 1 vertical spaces to show information. Also it would be nice if the transparency could be adjusted or turned off, as the text isn't very clear with my wallpaper. Having said that Solaris Alpha is a great app.

Most excellent addition, thankyou. Solaris has been a mainstay since FroYo.

A nice addition, it's got the data I find useful, just make it a bit more configurable and it'll be perfect!
